We love to follow the paths of our scholars! 2015 Scholar Adrienne Suhm is currently a sophomore at the University of Southern California, where she is majoring in World Bachelor in Business. This major is part of a new innovative program at USC, created to meet the need of multinational businesses seeking employees that have gained both a global and social perspective during their undergraduate years.

Her major entails studying abroad: this year Adrienne is studying at at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and plans to spend her junior year at the University of Bocconi in Milan.

We like to think that our scholarship made perhaps a smidgen of influence on Adrienne’s choices in her college studies. Says Suhm:

“Thank you again for bringing me deeper into the world of microfinance and anthropology through this amazing scholarship!”

As an applicant, Adrienne impressed us with her work within the International Entrepreneurship class at Mercer Island High School. She was the Chief Operating Officer of Mercer Trade, a corporation operated by the students in her class: she oversaw the buying and selling of goods produced by family-owned businesses in developing countries and donated the profits to Seattle-based charities.
