Ruby is planning to attend Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, this fall. She is a filmmaker and community organizer born and raised in the south end of Seattle. At a young age, Ruby was introduced to artists and activists working to foster creative leadership in the community’s young people. Through youth programming in Seattle, she was able to explore realms of her personal identity and has been impacted by organizations like AGE UP, Vera Project, Rain City Rock Camp, and Youth In Focus. For Ruby, access to arts education was vital to who she is a filmmaker today, and believes, that creative expression goes hand in hand with social justice work. She aims to hold this core ideology at the center of her work. She is committed to the success of her fellow BIPOC, Queer, femme-identifying young revolutionaries and the amplification of their voices. When she's not doing all that, you'll probably find her listening to music and drinking way too much coffee.
